Any questions?
- How much does your work cost?
This depends on a number of factors. Keep in mind that you will be receiving a completely handmade piece of art. Prices are generally negotiated on a one to one basis and are not finalized until completion. In general a standard 5×7 photo commission made from a single image will cost approximately/upwards of $150 – $200 plus shipping
- Can you stitch me my favourite cartoon character/movie poster etc etc
No I’m afraid not. There are strict copyright laws around that kind of thing. The only way I can stitch such a piece would be if it was created from a *legally purchased and created design/pattern* which would then be included in your price.
You also have the option of purchasing the pattern of your choice and sending it to me for completion.
- Do you ship internationally?
Absolutely! Just keep in mind that your price is quoted before shipping. Shipping to the USA costs approx. $20CAD
- What size of piece do you normally provide?
By default pieces are completed on 5×7 white 14 count Aida cloth.
- Can you create large scale/photo realistic content?
Yes. However, please keep in mind that large scale pieces take a great deal longer to complete and therefore will be a much higher cost. Also, they will be completed alongside/around regular commissions. If you are interested in commissioning a large scale project please contact me directly to negotiate terms and price.
- Do you use ‘special effects’ thread eg: metallic, glow-in-the-dark, beading etc?
I certainly will if you request me too! Also if I feel that your piece would benefit from a little extra sparkle I’ll check with you first to see if you approve of the idea.
- Do you require an advance deposit?
The cost of supplies will be charged in advance and is non-refundable.
- What methods of payment do you accept?
e-transfer or PayPal. Regretfully I cannot accept cash, cheque or money order
- What if I decide I don’t want/need my commission before it’s completed? Do I still have to pay for it?
If you haven’t yet put down the deposit for your commission then you’re free and clear! (though I’ll be sad not to be able to create something for you!)
however…
If you withdraw your commitment to a commission part-way through completion (any time after paying your deposit) you will still be charged for supplies and the hours that have already been completed. Please remember that hand-made art takes time and energy, for your sake and mine, please do not order a commission unless you are certain that you withdraw your request
- How far in advance should I order?
I can’t emphasize this enough, the further ahead the better!! At the very least, a commission takes a at least month to complete, more depending on the complexity of your pattern. For example if you need a piece for a birthday in October? Please place your order in late August at the *very* latest.
